United Church of Christ
Florida Conference of the UCC
Conference-Wide Worship Service
The Florida Conference, United Church of Christ, consists of over 90 UCC churches in the state of Florida. The Conference is staffed by a Conference Minister, Rev. John Vertigan, and two regional ministers, Rev. Leslie Etheredge, who serves the western part of Florida, and Rev. Dr. Raymond Hargrove, who serves the eastern part of the state. The Conference provides support and resources to all UCC churches in the state.
On Sunday, September 6th, the Conference live-streamed a conference-wide service that all churches in the Conference can access and enjoy. A portion of this message focuses on the farm workers of the Coalition of Immokalee Workers. The Florida Conference and the UCC have been long-time justice partners of the CIW and its goal to protect the human rights of the farm workers. This Labor Day message not only gives us the opportunity to recognize all workers, but also reminds us that not all are provided good working conditions and protections.
The service includes liturgies, music, prayers, scripture, a sermon, and a children’s moment, and was prepared in the hope that all churches across Florida could worship as a wider community. To view the worship service, follow this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYCv79drFtw.
