We would like to thank you who have already pledged and donated to our “Raise the Steeple / Capital Improvement Project”. We are faced with required repairs that have been long overdue for our worship facility, repairs needed due to Hurricane Irma, an overdue legal requirement to add a sprinkler system, an outdated kitchen and a less than “eye catching” and “welcoming” appearance from the street and as you enter the church. The Church Council has endorsed and the congregation has overwhelmingly approved the vision that has been presented by the CIP Committee to combine this effort in order to prevent us from having to redo any of the required work later, at extra costs, when a future vision for our church is desired.
As compared to a $1.6 million goal, we have received $1,148,345 in pledges with $527,344 already in hand. We have released our architect to begin the final design and expect it to be completed for permitting by early September, and selecting our contractor and beginning construction early November with construction completed next May. We are also in the final stages of securing a $1.2 million construction loan that will be drawn down as construction proceeds and until all funds “pledged over the next three years” have been received.
We hope to have a more complete forecast of the funds we will be receiving by the time we begin construction in order to determine if we can proceed with the total project as presented and endorsed by the congregation or if need to scale back the project to live within funds pledged.
If you haven’t yet made a pledge, payable over the next three years, we hope that you will prayerfully consider joining others to prepare our church for use as a community of faith for future generations who worship and carry on our ministries at Pass-A-Grille Beach Community Church.
