Holy Habits ~ A 40 Day Lenten Journey
People are continually seeking ways in which to grow deeper in their spiritual journey. Not in a manner that others necessarily see on the “outside” of our beings, but as a part of our “inner” being. After all, our outward actions are empty of real meaning unless motivated by the condition of our hearts.
In an effort to assist those interested in their endeavor to enrich their spiritual life, we are inviting you to join in a 40 Day Lenten Journey entitled, “Holy Habits” This is a commitment, by those wishing to participate, for working to create daily habits that expand the horizon of your faith, as well as grow a fuller sense of what it takes to live a prayerful life — a change of life.
You can sign up for this commitment/challenge on-line or by clicking on the link HERE. We will be meeting Wednesdays, February 21st through March 21st at 1pm or 7pm.
This is journey will ask you to commit time for specific prayer and study, worship and service, giving and receiving. Stay tuned!!!
Lenten Prayers ~ Wednesday, March 21
I enter this day with joy
knowing you are with me
every step of the way,
knowing there is a purpose
to each breath that I take,
knowing there is a hope
toward which I walk.
I enter this day with faith
knowing you are the strength
which I depend on,
knowing you are the love
that is all embracing,
knowing it is your peace
which calms my soul.
I enter this day with praise
knowing that I worship
with service as with voice,
hoping that my words
might reveal your truth,
hoping that your grace
might touch another heart. Amen
"In this world you will continue to experience difficulties.
But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.””
John 16:31-33 MSG
Before the ending of the day,
Creator of the world, we pray
That you, with steadfast love, would keep
Your watch around us while we sleep.
From evil dreams defend our sight,
From fears and terrors of the night;
Tread underfoot our deadly foe
That we no sinful thought may know.
that we ask be done
Through Christ your Son;
And the Holy Spirit, by whose breath
Our souls are raised to life from death. Amen
