Welcome!

There are many ways to connect at Pass-A-Grille Beach Community Church, UCC.  When you come to PAG, you'll discover that we are a people in differing places along our spiritual journey.  Through worship, fellowship, and learning, we are able to realize opportunities for deepening our faith, serving our community, finding God in our daily lives and making lasting relationships.

Rest assured, if you visit PAG, we'll make you feel welcome, and we'll also give you the space you need to decide if we are a good fit for you.

Most people first find their way to us through Sunday morning worship.  If you're curious what that is like, you can discover more on our worship page.

Adults connect through individual conversation during the Fellowship Hour and by becoming active in one of the many Adult Study groups, while our children receive a warm welcome in our Church School and teens find a home in our Youth Programs.

Find yourself here!  You'll be amazed at how intereseting, varied and life-giving the programs and groups are.

FREQUENTLY AKSED QUESTIONS FOR NEW VISITORS

At one point or another, each of us was new to PAG Church!  So we all have had questions about what worship is like.  In order to make your visit as enjoyable as possible, the following information may be helpful in understanding what to expect.

     Where do we park?

Free parking is available in 4 locations around the Church.

Rear paved parking lot off of 17th Street

               Parking on 16th Street

Parking on grass lot on east side of Church

Parking on Gulf Boulevard (permit form Church Office required to waive meter fees)

     When should we arrive?

You should plan on arriving 5 - 10 minutes prior to the start of the worship times noted on the             website. When you arrive walk to any of the entrances.  There will be a greeter who can direct you to the sanctuary.  If you run late, there will be time to join the wervice when you arrive.  Greeters will help you.

     What should we wear?

As a congregation of many blended cultures, religions and ages, as well as residing on the beach, dress on a Sunday morning will vary.  Our youth are more casual.  Our adults vary from beach casual attire to slacks/skirts, jackets (or not), and some ties.

What does Children, Youth and Family Ministry look like at PAG?

We hope that you find a place to worship, serve and learn individually and as a whole family.  Our goal is to provide an intentional environment that is both nurturing and accessible.  We enthusiastically welcome children in the sanctuary during worship.  Our value is life long faith formation experiences for your whole family.  Faith Formation is the language used because it seems to offer the most inclusive and accessible language to describe this ministry.  It is an engaged process of learning and practice integrated throughout all aspects of congregational and daily life.  Welcome families!

What are the times for Worship?

We offer two distinctly different worship services throughout the year. Our 8:45 am service is one that includes more contemporary Christian music and a weekly celebration of the Lord's supper. It ends at 9:30 am and is more intimate and personal than our later worship service.

Our 10:00 am worship is more traditional, including choir organ and hymns. We serve the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of every month. Our Faith Formation Program for Children (Church School) is offered at this time for those five and up. There is a special children's time at the 10:00 am service when children are invited ot the front of the sanctuary for a brief message.  Then children leave for their programs.  If your children want to stay with you for the first time, that's great too! After children leave for their programs, we have music, scripture reading, sermon, prayers, an offering and closing music.

     What happens during Church?

A "greeter" will meet you as you enter our sanctuary and provide printed material pertaining to our worship, along with announcements of upcoming events. All of our services feature reading, preaching and prayer. At times you will be invited to stand, sing, and welcome those around you.

At all of our services we provide an opportunity to support our ministry through an offering. At       8:45 am we simply have a plate in which you are invited to leave your gift as you receive communion. At  10:00 am we have a more traditional offering as part of worship. We welcome your gifts, but do not want anyone to feel "compelled" to make an offering. Many attendees choose to support our ministry electronically by giving through our online giving.

Will I have a chance to meet people?

Each Sunday after the service there is a time for fellowship, refreshment and conversation, either in our Fellowship Hall or on the Labyrinth.  This is a great time to meet people and get to know more about our community.

I need special assistance for my Sunday visit?

We are an accessible church.  If you have questions about special needs for a familly member, or handicapped access, please don't hesitate to call the church office for assistance (727) 360-5508.  We will be happy to assist you in any way that we can.

If you are facing a personal struggle and would like to connect with a staff member on Sunday, please let one of the greeters or a staff member know thath you'd like to speak with a minister after the service.  Our staff members are available to speak with you and help you to find the right resources to assist you.

We look forward to having you join us on Sunday!
