Imagine yourself sitting in a quiet, well lit room, with an empty painter’s canvas before you.  On a table next to you is the artist’s palette with all the brushes, colors and materials needed to create a beautiful painting.  Now imagine that from all of the subjects you could choose to paint -- landscapes, individuals, animals -- you decide to create a picture of your church

After a moment or two of reflection, you turn toward your palette to examine all the possibilities of colors and design available to you.  Should the colors be bright or dark; the texture thick and serious or thin and playful?  Would the image forming in your mind include flowers and other kinds of foliage?  Would it be quiet and still or busy with children playing and adults coming and going?  Maybe it would be one of these or another, or in subtle or obvious ways include them all.

The decision, however, is all yours!  How will it look?  What will you do?

This is how we would like you to think about Pass-a-Grille Community Church -- it’s people, ministry, and mission.  You are the artist.   The scheme, theme, and scenery are up to you.  The tools for design are yours as well.  The picture waiting to be created and revealed is yours.  And without you, the canvas remains blank or incomplete.

As we enter this year’s time for personal reflection and financial commitment, this is the image we would like you to ponder.  Our church is at a wonderful place in it’s life, but one that is also fragile and decisive.  The image we create will determine our direction for mission and ministry for years to come.  Will our painting be vivacious and inviting, one which people will joyfully gaze upon, and gather around for years?  Or not.  How it will look is uncertain.  What is certain, however, is that this painting -- our church -- will be determined by each one of us.

Our vision.  Our involvement.  Our commitment.  Our love.

These are the colors on our palette and we invite you to thoughtfully; prayerfully; and intentionally join us, as together we paint a church that is a beautiful offering to God.
